…..but I felt much more confident when my body was …..but I felt much more confident when my body was smaller.”

Maybe you truly believe it’s true for you right now.I know I did for more than 25 years.

But the reality is that losing weight and existing in a smaller body did give me the safety of fitting in, not genuine confidence.

Shrinking my body to meet society’s “normal and acceptable” expectation for women’s body did protect me from judgment, criticism, discrimination, and rejection.

I felt safe, not confident.

When confidence is shaken by a change in the size of our body, it is never confidence you felt; it’s the safety of compliance to society’s expectations. You felt safe because you thought you were protected from your fear of judgement and rejection.

Confidence is created by the thoughts you think about yourself in the solace of your own mind, not the size of your body.Confidence is the result of knowing that you will have your own back no matter what happens.Create safety and building up your confidence with this simple move;1- Buy clothes that fit your now body and that feels comfortable now
2- Refuse to entertain the self-critical thoughts about no longer fitting in your current clothing.
3-Courageously think compassionate thoughts that support your decision to prioritize you and your own comfort.Doing this will create safety and confidence.Do you want to grow an unshakeable confidence and live a life you’ll never regret ?#Beyond the food #bodyimage #intuitiveeating

If you are a professional helping other human in the process of changing eating habits, be sure to coach with a trauma informed lense... and better yet intersectional coaching.
