What is Body Neutrality?

Body Neutrality is the safe bridge between body shaming and body positivity.

Body Neutrality empowers you to embrace yourself as you are recognizing that not everyone is going to love every part of themselves all the time. Its focus is to avoid self-shaming while simultaneously relieving the pressure of having to love your body. The goal is to respect and accept your body for what it is – and that’s it.

Embracing Body Neutrality over Body Positivity  at first, allows you to experience negative feelings about yourself, but without the pressure that comes with having to be positive all the time.

My name is Stephanie Dodier. I’m a Clinical Nutritionist, Emotional & Intuitive Eatings expert, teacher, podcast host, and creator of the Going Beyond The Food Method, which was born from my own journey with intuitive eating & body acceptance, and has since grown into a global movement.

You can’t postpone body acceptance until after you’ve lost weight. Actually it’s the opposite. If loving care is not applied first, there will be NO forward movement and certainly no sustainability. You can’t care for something you don’t care about.

Body Acceptance doesn’t mean giving up. By accepting what is, you’ll move from love to fear. From a place of love, you’ll be able to find and heal what is really holding you back.
